When a client contacted me about creating a custom didgeridoo stand, I knew this would be more than a simple woodworking project. They wanted something unique—an artistic display stand that would enhance the beauty of their didgeridoo, not just hold it in place.

Designing an Artistic Instrument Stand

The didgeridoo is a visually striking instrument, and I wanted the stand to reflect that same elegance. I incorporated a graceful curve into the neck of the stand, echoing the organic flow of the instrument itself. For stability and style, I designed the base in a triangular shape with rounded corners—a modern, artistic touch that stands apart from the usual straight-edged bases.

Choosing the Right Wood

I selected walnut for this project, knowing its rich, dark grain would provide a stunning contrast against the lighter tones of the didgeridoo. Walnut not only offers visual warmth but also durability, ensuring the stand will be a lasting companion to the instrument.

Precision Craftsmanship with CNC Routing

Once the design was finalized, I used a CNC router to cut both the base and neck. This ensured perfect symmetry and smooth contours, giving the wooden didgeridoo stand a polished, professional finish.
