Coffee Mug Cabinet

A client called with a fun request. She asked if I could build a cabinet for her collection of handmade coffee mugs. The challenge was the narrow space she wanted to use between her doorway and the wall.  

We had some fun thinking about ideas, and she sketched out (which worked well because she's an artist) this concept.

To create the front arches, I used a CNC router to cut out each opening for the mugs. Biggest challenges: the angled top and aligning the cubbies. 

Her husband did the painting, and it turned out great. 

My client gave me permission to use the design, so I made a second one for another artist and can't wait to see how she paints hers!
