This was a fun project. Old Town Art + Frame of Fort Collins participates every month in First Friday Art Walk. In addition to viewing and purchasing beautiful art, their guests can enjoy complimentary wine and treats. The owner, Chris, asked me to help dress up the wine a bit by building these custom wine box holders.
To follow the theme of red and white wine, I built one of the boxes out of cherry wood and used General Finishes Georgian cherry gel stain to give it a red color.
For the white wine I used maple with no stain and topped it off with General Finishes oil based topcoat to bring out the grain.
To customize the boxes, I used a laser engraver to place the Old Town Art + Frame logo on each box and added the red and white designations so there would be no confusion.
Can't wait to see these in use each month at the First Friday Art Walks!
